How to get registered for a Glider Orientation Flight

A new "Glider Operations" board has been made on the Washington Wing Talk Forum, under Aerospace Discussions. Look at the child boards (Click here to go directly to the discussion board). This is where information on upcoming glider flights will be posted. Additionally, you will be able to look for any last minute cancellations due to weather on this forum. I have also asked that dates for glider orientation flights be posted on the Wing Calendar. We will attempt to post these dates 90 days in advance. As always, cadets must be pre-scheduled for the flights for us to be able to fly them.

Send requests to me either directly, atmttd@msn.com through the forum, or by phone (360) 273-0222 Please leave a message and I will get back to you.

The following dates we will be flying:

Jan 1 (already filled)

Jan 25 (10 slots)

Feb 15 (10 slots)

Mar 8 (10 slots)

The Forum will also be used for suggestions, concerns and comments about upcoming and completed flights.

June 2008

Northshore Squadron cadets Hines, Lynch and Thiele join other Washington Wing cadets for Glider Orientation Flights down at Chehalis, Washington.  Glider flights tend to be hard to come by due to weather and limited available aircraft and pilots.

CAP gliders are aerobatic Blanik L-23s, the same type used at the US Air Force Academy.
